Caribbean /ˌkarɪˈbiːən, kəˈrɪbɪən/
▶adjective relating to the region consisting of the Caribbean Sea, its islands (including the West Indies), and the surrounding coasts.
usage: There are two possible pronunciations of the word Caribbean. The first, found in the US and the Caribbean itself, puts the stress on the -rib-, while the second, more familiar to most British people, puts the stress on the -be-.
