noun a large partly bipedal herbivorous dinosaur of the early to mid Cretaceous period, with a broad stiff tail and the thumb developed into a spike.
– origin mod. L., from iguana + Gk odous, odont- ‘tooth’ (because its teeth resemble those of the iguana).
