Spanish Dictionaries

There are now two free English-Spanish dictionaries, one from Espasa Calpe and another from Oxford.  Each has its own strengths and the combination of the two plus the WordReference supplement is an unbeatable combination.

Oxford Spanish-English dictionaries on WordReference

We are excited to have the Oxford dictionaries on WordReference. 
Five dictionaries are available for free:

• English-Spanish
• English-French
• English-Italian
• English-German
• English Russian

Each of the Oxford dictionaries has around 100,000 words and phrases with over 200,000 translations.

For frequent WordReference users, four larger versions of the same dictionaries (except for Russian) are available on the site by subscription.

Supporting the translation dictionaries, we also have the Internet's premier language forums.  If you have a question about language usage, first search the hundreds of thousands of previous questions.  If you still are not sure, then you can ask the question yourself.  Native speakers from around the world will be happy to assist you.  You may soon find that you are able to help others as well.
